In the Margins: The Spatial Influence of the Caribbean Diaspora by Akil Scafe-Smith

An adaptation of our article in the Architectural Review May 2019 issue on Periphery responding creatively to a larger body of RESOLVE research. Looking at the relationship between diasporic spatial practice and architectural/infrastructural performance, this piece used fiction to look at how Afro-Caribbean diasporic spaces across the last century have been designed into a physical and political periphery whilst defining a central space, culture or identity.
